Short Artist Bio Raquel Glottman:
Born in Miami, raised in Bogota, Colombia and educated in Israel and NYC, the artist's early experiences in developing film by hand and exploration of photographic processes made a crucial impact on her life and inspired her ultimate desire to create art that speaks to and about the soul. Within her works the artist explores humanity and mortality. She began exhibiting her work in NYC and later was invited to Miami as artist in residence followed by a full scholarship to pursue her Master's degree in Photography at University of Miami, where she taught for 3 years. It was in Miami that the artist's body of work became greatly influenced by her environment and she turned her attention to the element of water. As the holder of a dual career as artist and certified yoga instructor, Raquel believes her spiritual path towards the evolution and expansion of consciousness contribute imperative meaning to her visual work through the sublime connection between mind, matter, spirituality, nature, beauty and even eroticism.
Short Artist Bio Pop Artist Michael Perez:
"Hampton's Sunrise, Oliva's Moon" is a signature element added to various series of original abstract works by Pop Artist Michael Perez, artist owner of Gallery 212 Miami in the Wynwood Art District. The 3D painted gold or silver bar represent a sunrise explosion of light on Shinnecock Bay in the Hamptons where the artist started his career. He once spotted a shooting star coming across the sky in brilliant silver and gold there and made a wish. The gold bar and 3d detail are dedicated to his daughter Oliva Perez, named after his mother, and the sliver, smiling moon in the sky the night she was born.
